Disciplined By COBOL

Being an Engineer had sculpted me into an individual who believed in
  • Analytical thinking and technical delivery.
  • Life is pure enjoyment
It all worked fine. Was able to clear all the possible aptitude tests and getting employed was the ultimate step on the success ladder of Engineering...

A campus recruitment was our gateway to the ever demanding Corporate World... It further opened an avenue to learn and explore new things.. Being an engineer, the passion to try something new and excel always existed... I always had  the will to learn and upgrade myself... I try to learn atleast one new thing every year... I love designing and thus built frameworks that are backbones of the organisation.

But to succeed I firmly believe that we always need mentors.. and mentors everywhere...  I too had the best of mentors... Of them one is extremely special... It is not a person but a programming language... Yes you read it correct..

A programming language-- COBOL...

  • It taught me that life is complicated and interesting...
  • It taught me that discipline is important..
  • It punished me hard for the mistakes I committed...
  • It taught me to let each one do their own job...
  • It taught me to if you fail your team fails...
  • It taught me there is no place for casual approach..
  • It taught me that planning is as important as execution....
  • It taught me getting things right in max two retakes..
  • It taught me considering the future while acting in the present..
  • It taught me missing a smallest POINT "." can create a havoc...
So I consider myself fortunate to have worked on this beautiful platform who Disciplined me....

I dedicate this first post of mine to COBOL.. my mentor my guru....
